As the only native Brazilian currently practicing at the Bar, Frederico is developing a niche practice in the relationship between the UK and Brazil. His practice is aided by the fact he speaks native Portuguese and has a good working knowledge of Spanish. As a dual national, Frederico has free roam of two economic powehouses – the European Union and the Mercosul economies.

Frederico specialises in complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes. His main area of practice includes commercial litigation and he has developed an interest in international arbitration. He has represented clients in cases involving civil fraud, shipping, aviation, professional negligence, economic torts, corporate disputes, partnerships, joint ventures, commercial contracts, e-commerce, intellectual property, financial instruments, commercial loans, real property, employment disputes, defamation, harassment and trusts.

He also frequently advises foreign companies on corporate and commercial law. He has advised clients on company formation, structure and acquisition, investment funds, intellectual property, tax, commercial contracts, import and export, employment and service contracts.

He has worked closely with organisations such as UK Trade and Investment (an arm of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office who promote trade between the UK and Brazil), the Chambers of Commerce in London and Sao Paulo for the respective countries, the Brazilian Bar Association and more. He currently sits in the Legal Committee of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and gave their inaugural talk entitled "England and Wales as a choice of law in international contracts". He has also sits on the International Committee of the Bar Council of England and Wales promoting the work of barristers internationally.
